I love when things go together. Like when something just works in unison so well with something else. It is a part of living that is truly wonderful. Well, one of those things has been created and it can truly help those who have a stoma look good and be protected as well. It is a huge part of being active and also be a little crazy with a stoma and it is just a simple piece of gear. But I don’t want to make it sound like this is the only thing out there. There are so many types of gear that can help you live a happy and active lifestyle even with a stoma. Don’t believe all the hate or naysayers out there who have given up on enjoying life. It is 2021 and there are so many good companies and products that exist that it is simply silly to not think you can not do anything you couldn’t before. So what am I talking about? Well, it’s simply a stoma shield.
I mean it seems like these have been around for forever, but they also take on the same idea as a concealed carry piece. Now not all Americans Conceal Carry and in some cases, their regular constitutional right is not allowed. But the idea of concealing a gun is similar to a stoma and has been around for a very long time. I am pretty sure that it is incredibly well thought out how to keep that large object from printing. Well, these stoma Sheilds follow along with the same rules and the same philosophy. I know that it is really nice to be able to walk out in a normal shirt and not print like a person who doesn’t know how to dress. But I really enjoy the ability to simply feel normal and have some extra protection for my stoma. I think it is a bit crazy to think that some people are afraid to walk out of their homes and be around people because of their stoma. But those people are all over and crazy has always existed. I have never let my stoma get in the way of enjoying life. I think it is really important to be free to enjoy living and be active even with an ostomy.
What I have enjoyed using an ostomy shield for is adding some extra protection and also stabilization when doing more active things. It is really fun for me to go outside and play basketball. With the shield on I am not afraid to post up or to hed in for a drive because if something or someone swats my side it won’t make a difference. It is a really cool thing to have and I always wear one when being active. It keeps my peace of mind solid about my body and I don’t have to even think about my stoma. I can hike, run, and be active with this and just be really happy.
I am always a fan of learning about new items and using new gear as well. So when new things are made I am always ready to give them a try. So enjoy the cool tools we have and get out and be a fun, happy human.
